TradeDay rules
Rule explorer
TradeDay's core evaluation with a drawdown that trails your intraday high (including open profit). 5-day minimum and 30% consistency to pass; once funded you can request a payout after one day with no buffer, but the split is only 50/50 until an account holds $4,000+ profit.
Evaluation
passing the test- Profit target
- $3,000 net profit after simulated commissions
- Max drawdown
- $2,000, intraday trailing: the limit follows your highest balance during the day, including open (unrealised) profit. It stops trailing once it reaches the $50,000 starting balance.
- Daily loss limit
- None set by the firm (optional self-set limits in Tradovate)
- Consistency rule
- No single day may be more than 30% of total profit. Going over does not fail the account; it raises the amount needed to pass to your best day divided by 0.30.
- Minimum trading days
- 5 trading days (any day with at least one trade; not required to be consecutive; no time limit)
- Max contracts
- 5 contracts (or 50 micros)
- Also know
- Must trade only permitted products and hours; flat 10 minutes before the close and around Tier 1 news. Fail = buy a reset or wait for the free reset at the next monthly renewal.
Funded
after you pass- Activation fee
- None
- Max drawdown
- $2,000 trailing, always calculated intraday in Funded Sim (even if the evaluation was end-of-day). The trailing limit is based on gross profit (current profit plus payouts already taken), so payouts do not pull it back down.
- When the drawdown stops trailing
- Per the drawdown help article, the trailing limit stops rising once it reaches the $50,000 starting balance and stays there.
- Daily loss limit
- None set by the firm
- Consistency rule
- None in Funded Sim
- Max contracts / scaling
- Funded Sim: 5 contracts (or 50 micros), carried over from the evaluation. Funded Live: set by the profit brought over from Sim: 2 contracts/20 micros for $0-3K, 3/30 for $3K-6K, 4/40 for $6K-10K; the head of trading can raise or lower limits.
- Also know
- Each Funded Sim account is reviewed for Funded Live at $10,000 gross profit (profit plus payouts). Trading must stop there; access pauses at the 4:30 pm CT end-of-day run and profit above $10,000 is removed and forfeited. Most reviewed accounts move to Funded Live (setup up to 10 business days); occasionally an extension or direct transfer is offered. Funded Live has a slippage buffer ($500 / $750 / $1,000 depending on the balance brought over) and a $156/month per exchange data fee.
Payouts
getting paid- Days needed before a payout
- 1 trading day; a payout can be requested once the account shows a positive balance
- How often
- No limit stated; requests before 5:30 pm CT are processed within 24 hours on business days
- Profit split
- Funded Sim: 50/50 on current profit below $4,000, 80/20 when profit is above $4,000 both before and after the withdrawal (mixed if the payout crosses $4,000); calculated per account. Funded Live: transferred profit counted as buffer is paid 50/50 and profit above it 90/10.
- Minimum payout
- $250
- Maximum payout
- No fixed cap stated; a withdrawal cannot take the account below its starting balance, and Sim profit above $10,000 gross is forfeited
- Buffer / safety net
- No buffer in Funded Sim. Funded Live keeps a slippage buffer of $500 ($0-3K transferred), $750 ($3K-6K) or $1,000 ($6K-10K).
- Also know
- Paid through Riseworks (bank wire or crypto). Up to 5 Funded Live accounts at once.
Heads up: recent changes and conflicting pages 13
- May 29, 2026: 'TradeDay 2.0' launched. Fast Pass was introduced, Quick Pay milestones were removed, both plans got defined routes to Funded Live (90/10, up to 5 Live accounts), and older programs stopped taking new purchases (existing accounts keep their rules). Source: tradeday.com
- July 26, 2026: Fast Pass Funded Sim accounts opened on or after this date have lower payout caps (50K $1,500 / 100K $1,875 / 150K $2,250, plus 25K $750) than older accounts (50K $2,000 / 100K $2,500 / 150K $3,000) and must meet a 45% consistency rule for payouts. Source: tradeday.freshdesk.com
- Fast Pass minimum days conflict: the objectives article says 'Trade for at least 3 trading days' and the minimum-days article lists FastPass: 3, while the 'What is Fast Pass?' article says 'There are no minimum trading days in the evaluation', and the How It Works page and the TradeDay 2.0 post also say no minimum. Sources: tradeday.freshdesk.com ; tradeday.freshdesk.com ; tradeday.com
- Prices conflict: homepage monthly prices (e.g. Quick Pay 50K Intraday $59, discounted from $131; Fast Pass 150K $265 from $530) differ from the help-center size table (e.g. Quick Pay 50K Intraday $125, Quick Pay 150K EOD $395 vs homepage $400 regular, Fast Pass 50K $180 vs homepage $189). Homepage promos say 'up to 55% OFF' with code TDNEW and no end date. Sources: tradeday.com ; tradeday.freshdesk.com
- Reset fees conflict: the billing/renewal articles list Quick Pay Intraday 100K $96 and 150K $144 and Fast Pass 100K $165 and 150K $250, while the homepage plan cards show reset fees of $108, $162, $175 and $265 for the same accounts. Sources: tradeday.freshdesk.com ; tradeday.com
- Quick Pay EOD funded drawdown: the homepage plan card for Quick Pay End of Day says drawdown is 'calculated End of Day' while its Funded Sim section says 'calculated intraday'; the funded rules article confirms Quick Pay Funded Sim uses an intraday drawdown 'regardless of the drawdown had on the evaluation'. Sources: tradeday.com ; tradeday.freshdesk.com
- Fast Pass Funded Live buffer example uses a 50K account with a $1,500 trailing drawdown (floor at -$1,500, cleared at $2,000), although the 50K evaluation and Funded Sim drawdown is $2,000 and the same pages say Live keeps the 'same End-of-Day drawdown' as the original tier. - Quick Pay payout processing time zone conflict on the same page: 'before 5:30 pm ET by the next business day' vs 'before 5:30 pm CT will be processed within 24 hours'. Other payout articles say 5:30 pm CT. Source: tradeday.freshdesk.com
- Quick Pay transfer article example applies an 80/20 split to $2,500 of profit, although the stated rule is 50/50 below $4,000. Source: tradeday.freshdesk.com
- Account limits: the copy-trading article says up to 10 accounts with up to 10 evaluations, 5 Funded Sim and 5 Funded Live; the Multiple Accounts article adds that no new accounts can be bought while a Funded Live account is active. Sources: tradeday.freshdesk.com ; tradeday.freshdesk.com
- Fast Pass Funded Sim payout article does not list a pre-July 26, 2026 cap for the 25K account, and the homepage lists 25K Funded Sim scaling as capped at 2 minis. Fast Pass 25K minimum profitable-day size ($100) appears on the payout policy page and homepage but not on the 'What is Fast Pass?' article.
- The onboarding article lists an 'activation fee' step paid automatically, but the homepage and the funded-fees article say there is no activation fee for current plans. Sources: tradeday.freshdesk.com ; tradeday.freshdesk.com

Quick Pay - Intraday drawdown
TradeDay's core evaluation with a drawdown that trails your intraday high (including open profit). 5-day minimum and 30% consistency to pass; once funded you can request a payout after one day with no buffer, but the split is only 50/50 until an account holds $4,000+ profit.
| Size | Price | Profit target | Max drawdown | Daily loss limit | Split | Min payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $45 / month | $1,500 | $1,000 · intraday | None | 50% | $250 |

| 150K | $162 / month | $9,000 | $4,500 · intraday | None | 50% | $250 |
Quick Pay - End of Day drawdown
Same as Quick Pay Intraday but the evaluation drawdown only moves up from closing balances, at a higher monthly price. Once funded, the Funded Sim drawdown switches to intraday trailing.
| Size | Price | Profit target | Max drawdown | Daily loss limit | Split | Min payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $54 / month | $1,500 | $1,000 · EOD | None | 50% | $250 |

Fast Pass (End of Day drawdown)
Faster evaluation (3-day minimum, looser 45% consistency, end-of-day drawdown) at a higher price. Funded accounts keep the end-of-day drawdown and pay 80/20 from the first payout, but payouts need 5 profitable days, are capped per request, and contract limits start small and scale up.
| Size | Price | Profit target | Max drawdown | Daily loss limit | Split | Min payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $65 / month | $1,500 | $1,000 · EOD | None | 80% | $250 |

Rules for every TradeDay account
Trading hours, news, banned strategies, account limits, fees and more.
- Core rule set
Every evaluation has one hard rule: never hit or go past the maximum (trailing) drawdown. On top of that there are objectives to reach (profit target, minimum trading days, consistency) and three guidelines (trade only in permitted hours, only permitted products, and within your contract limit). Accidental, one-off breaches of the three guidelines do not fail the account, but repeated abuse does.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Daily loss limit
TradeDay does not list a firm-imposed daily loss limit for any current plan; the trailing maximum drawdown is the only loss rule. Traders can optionally set their own daily or weekly loss limits and profit triggers in Tradovate's risk settings on evaluation and funded accounts. Once a self-set daily limit is set, TradeDay's team cannot override or change it, and a lockout lasts until the session ends.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Platforms and data feeds
Accounts run either on CQG (Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView, Jigsaw) or on Rithmic (R|Trader Pro, Quantower, ATAS, MotiveWave, Bookmap, Jigsaw, Sierra Chart, EdgeProX, Finamark, Volfix, WealthCharts, MultiCharts, Overcharts). Tradovate is the main evaluation platform. NinjaTrader Desktop is not supported on Rithmic accounts. Third-party platform licences (TradingView, Jigsaw, Bookmap, etc.) are paid by the trader. Every plan is sold in both a Tradovate and a Rithmic version with the same terms.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Market data cost
Level 1 CME data is free on evaluation and Funded Sim accounts. Funded Live accounts must pay for a professional data feed at $156 per month per exchange. Level 2 data is extra; on Tradovate/NinjaTrader the Level 2 bundle for all exchanges is $49 per month.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Fees once funded
There is no activation fee, and the monthly subscription stops on the day an evaluation is passed. Funded Sim has no data fee. Funded Live pays the $156/month per exchange professional data fee, a $2/month card-processing fee charged by Tradovate, and real commissions deducted from the account.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Commissions
Simulated commissions are charged on every trade in evaluation and Funded Sim to mirror live costs, and they count against profit. Rates are per contract per side and include exchange and clearing fees, e.g. ES/NQ/RTY/YM $2.88, MES/MNQ/M2K/MYM $0.95, CL $3.00, MCL $1.10, GC $3.10, MGC $1.20, 6E $3.10, ZN $2.30, agricultural $3.60. Live commissions may differ slightly.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Permitted products
Only CME Group futures listed on CME, CBOT, COMEX and NYMEX, and only those on the published list: equity indexes (ES, MES, NQ, MNQ, RTY, M2K, YM, MYM, NKD), currencies (6A, 6B, 6C, 6E, M6E, 6J, 6S, 6N), interest rates (ZT, ZF, ZN, ZB, UB, TN), energy (CL, MCL, QM, QG, NG), metals (PL, HG, GC, MGC, SI, SIL) and agriculturals (HE, LE, ZS, ZC, ZL, ZM, ZW). Metals are capped at 2/5/10/15 contracts for 25K/50K/100K/150K, and Micro Silver (SIL) counts like a full-size contract.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Contract limits and micros
Each account has a maximum number of full-size contracts; 1 contract equals 10 micros, and full-size and micro positions can be mixed up to that total. Micros are capped at 50 lots on any account because of micro order-book liquidity. Accidental breaches are not failures; repeatedly breaking the limit to exploit the system can cost the account.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Trading hours and flat time
Trading is allowed whenever the market is open (a trading day runs from the 5 pm CT open to the next day's close), except around Tier 1 news. All positions must be closed 10 minutes before the product's close; TradeDay auto-liquidates at 3:50 pm CT. Holding overnight is allowed as long as the position is closed before the next day's close, but no position may be held through the daily close. Products that close earlier (e.g. agriculturals) must be flat before their own close. Funded traders still holding at flat time get a warning.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - News trading
Trading Tier 1 releases is not allowed. Markets are blocked from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after: FOMC minutes and rate decision (1:00 pm CT, all products), US CPI and Non-Farm Payrolls (7:30 am CT, all products), EIA crude inventories (oil only), EIA natural gas inventories (gas only), and crop production reports (agriculturals only). Open positions are auto-liquidated 2 minutes before a release. Accidental breaches do not fail the account; abuse does, and profits from Tier 1 trading are not paid out if a funded account is lost.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Price limits and circuit breakers
Funded traders may not trade when the market is within 2% of a price limit; doing so loses the funded account. Traders are responsible for knowing CME circuit-breaker levels (for US equity index futures: 7% and 13% trigger 15-minute halts, 20% closes the market for the day).
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Bots and automation
TradeDay gives no API access and does not allow direct connections to the Tradovate API. Self-built automated systems may run on NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, Jigsaw or Quantower if they comply with the prohibited-practices policy. Bots or algos bought from a third party are forbidden, and if several users place the same trades, all those accounts are shut down and the users suspended.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - High-frequency trading and trade count
Strategies that produce more than 200 trades in a day, extremely high-frequency automated scalping, and strategies that grab a tick or two by exploiting queue position in the simulator are prohibited. Ordinary scalping is allowed.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Microscalping and order splitting
Microscalping (most trades, or most profit, coming from positions held under about 10 seconds, or bursts of trades relying on speed) is not allowed. Order splitting (several identical limit/stop orders at the same price and side placed at once) is not allowed; scaling in at different prices and partial fills are fine. First offence: account reset plus a formal warning. Second offence: profit deduction, reset or suspension. Severe or deliberate cases can be suspended immediately.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Other prohibited practices
Also banned: exploiting price or platform errors, delays or bugs; trading gapped or illiquid markets for stray fills; using the lack of simulated slippage (e.g. bracketing news); trading outside the best bid/offer; spoofing, layering or other disruptive strategies; using an external or slow data feed; and any strategy TradeDay judges unrealistic for live markets. Profits from prohibited practices are confiscated, passed evaluations can be reviewed, and abusers are not funded or refunded.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Hedging
Holding opposite positions in the same product across accounts (long in one, short in another) is prohibited. Traders caught hedging are offboarded and suspended and forfeit all profits in funded accounts.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Copy trading
Trade copiers are allowed, including copying trades from a personal account into TradeDay accounts. Evaluation and Funded Sim accounts can be copied together (2 to 10 accounts), and up to 5 Funded Live accounts can be copied together, but copying between Funded Live and evaluation/Funded Sim accounts is not allowed, and a trader may not hold open trades in a Funded Live account and an evaluation/Funded Sim account at the same time.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Account limits
Up to 10 accounts in total at one time, with at most 5 Funded Sim and at most 5 Funded Live accounts. If more than 5 evaluations are passed, 5 move to Funded Sim and the rest wait in a queue. All accounts must be on the same broker but can mix sizes and drawdown types. One username per trader and one user per household. While a Funded Live account is active, no new accounts can be bought until the trader is offboarded from it (per the Multiple Accounts article).
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - VPN / VPS
VPS use is not allowed, and VPNs or any IP-masking tools (including Apple Private Relay and browser privacy extensions) must be turned off; trading must be done from the registered address. A location check (a full day of normal trading from the registered address) may be requested at Funded Live promotion, at Funded Sim payout requests, or at the Quick Pay $10,000 review. Failing to comply closes the account.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Eligibility and KYC
Traders must be 18 or older and not a citizen or resident of a prohibited country. At funding, the broker, clearing firm and Riseworks run KYC/AML checks requiring a government-issued photo ID and a bank statement or utility bill. Single-member US LLCs are accepted; multi-member LLCs, S-corps, C-corps and non-US companies are not. If the checks fail, the funded account is not opened; the passed-evaluation fee is refunded but earlier subscriptions are not.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Prohibited countries
Around 80 countries/regions are excluded, including Russia, Belarus, Ukraine (no new users; existing Riseworks users may only withdraw in crypto), Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Venezuela, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, South Africa, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Malta, Monaco, Iceland, Panama, Puerto Rico, Guam and both the US and British Virgin Islands. Residents of Germany, and of Canada outside Ontario, can trade Funded Sim only and are not eligible for Funded Live.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Inactivity
There are no inactivity fees or minimum trading requirements, but Tradovate archives an account that is not logged into for more than one calendar month; that account is treated as failed and cannot be recovered. TradeDay may offboard any account dormant for 30 days. Funded Live paperwork must be submitted within 30 days of being offered Funded Live or the offer lapses.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Billing and subscription
Evaluations are monthly subscriptions billed every 30 days from sign-up until the evaluation is passed or the membership is cancelled. Each billing period includes one evaluation; there is no deadline to pass and an active evaluation does not reset on renewal. Subscriptions cannot be paused; cancelling ends evaluation immediately and progress is lost. Plans cannot be upgraded or downgraded between evaluation types (only from CoPilot to an evaluation). A pass counts only after the 5:30 pm CT end-of-day run, and a renewal charged before that run on the pass day is not refunded.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Resets
After a failed evaluation a trader can buy a reset to restart right away, or wait for the next monthly renewal, which resets the account for free if the dashboard shows 'NOT BEING EVALUATED'. Resets cannot be saved for later and do not change the billing date. Help-center reset prices: Quick Pay Intraday $45/$59/$96/$144, Quick Pay EOD $54/$79/$129/$180, Fast Pass $65/$95/$165/$250 for 25K/50K/100K/150K (the homepage shows some different figures; see notes). A funded account cannot be reset for a fee.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Failed payments
If a card payment through the NMI gateway fails, the subscription is cancelled at once. Braintree/Google Pay/Apple Pay retry after about 24 hours and again about 72 hours later; PayPal retries up to three times over 15 days. During retries position limits are set to zero; if no payment arrives, the evaluation is permanently closed.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Refunds
Purchases are not refundable. Exception: a forgotten renewal can be refunded minus 20% if support is contacted within 72 hours of the charge and there has been no trading or third-party connection since. No refunds for technology problems (stuck orders, connectivity, data or platform faults).
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Technical issues
No resets or P&L adjustments for problems isolated to a trader's own platform or connection. Issues affecting all traders on evaluation/Funded Sim may be compensated case by case. Funded Live accounts are never compensated or adjusted.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Path to funding
After passing (email at 5:30 pm CT), the trader completes onboarding within 30 days: Riseworks registration, a rules course, then selects the Funded Sim account, which opens immediately. Funding requires meeting the objectives without breaking rules, no prohibited practices, and passing KYC.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Funded Sim vs Funded Live
Funded Sim is a simulated account that pays real money from simulated profits, with free data and no slippage rule. Funded Live trades real exchange markets at a 90/10 split, takes about five business days to set up (KYC/AML), requires the $156/month per exchange pro data feed, and has a slippage buffer rule. Each plan has its own route from Sim to Live (see plan details).
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Slippage rule (Funded Live)
Funded Live accounts must keep a slippage buffer: $500 for 25K and 50K, $750 for 100K, $1,000 for 150K. If losses take the balance below the buffer, all positions are closed and the remaining money is paid out at 90/10. The Head of Trading can raise the buffer for high-risk traders or in extreme volatility.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Losing a funded account
Breaking a rule ends the funded account; to continue the trader must take a new evaluation after a review by the trading team. Losing a Funded Live account brings a mandatory 3-month cooling-off period with no evaluations; afterwards the trader reapplies by emailing FundedTrader@TradeDay.com and may be placed in Funded Sim first. If a funded account is lost with a positive balance, profits are paid out after the split unless they came from Tier 1 news trading, trading outside permitted times, prohibited practices or repeated guideline abuse.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Payout method and fees
Payouts go through Riseworks by bank wire or crypto. TradeDay charges no withdrawal fee; Riseworks charges $15 per international wire, nothing for US wires, $2.50 plus gas for L1 crypto and nothing for L2 crypto. Funded Sim payouts are requested from the dashboard; Funded Live payouts by emailing fundedtrader@tradeday.com. Requests before 5:30 pm CT are processed within 24 hours on business days. A new request replaces any pending one. Payout earners are independent contractors.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Withdrawal management
Withdrawals can never take an account below its starting balance, and frequent or large withdrawals that leave the account close to its drawdown may be treated as poor risk management.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Loyalty points
Points (1 point = $1) are earned through achievements (education, social follows, evaluation milestones, referrals) and can only be spent in full on resets or activation fees, not on subscriptions. Points cannot be cashed out and are lost if an account is suspended.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - CoPilot membership
TradeDay CoPilot is a non-funded membership (education/community, no trading platform access) from $24 per month. It can be upgraded to an evaluation at any time.
source · tradeday.freshdesk.com - Discontinued programs
With 'TradeDay 2.0' (announced May 29, 2026) the earlier programs stopped accepting new purchases; Quick Pay was updated (milestones removed) and Fast Pass was added. Traders on older accounts keep their original rules.
